Information Data Security and Compliance
You have a secure document destruction program to protect your hardcopy confidential information, but how are you disposing of your electronically stored confidential information? Like hardcopy information, data stored electronically are also covered by HIPAA and FACTA disposal rules. Unlike hardcopy information, however, electronically-stored information is further regulated by the EPA and must be recycled in an environmentally-responsible manner after destruction.
LifeSpan is an exclusive AAA Certified Member of the National Association of Information Destruction (NAID). Our AAA NAID certifications include plant-based information destruction, mobile information destruction, and hard drive sanitization (wiping). NAID frequently audits its AAA Certified members on both a scheduled and random basis in order to ensure that they provide the highest level of security and service in the information destruction industry. For more information on NAID, please click on the NAID logo.
LifeSpan offers two types of AAA NAID certified services for electronic data destruction:
Physical Destruction – Physical destruction can be performed in one of two ways:
Customer Onsite Location – Destruction can be performed at your office or data center location.
LifeSpan AAA NAID Certified Destruction Facility - We will physically destroy your drives rendering them useless so that the data will not be retrievable. The crushed drives will then be recycled in an environmentally-responsible manner.

Sanitization (wiping) - LifeSpan’s software-based data destruction process (also known as a “wipe” or “scrub”) ensures the complete erasure of all data from customer disk drives and other electronic storage media.
LifeSpan uses commercially-available toolsets for performing software-based data destruction. These software tools overwrite all data – including partitions, files, files tables, dynamic drive overlays, and boot record information.
